CoastWatch Information & Training Session
CoastWatch’s new volunteer coordinator, Jesse Jones, is launching a fall series of educational activities and training sessions related to CoastWatch monitoring. The first of these on the north coast is coming up on Saturday, Oct. 26, at noon in the Rockaway Community Center (2310 Hwy. 101 N.) in Rockaway Beach. The event is free and open to all—CoastWatchers, prospective CoastWatchers, or anyone else interested in keeping an eye on the shoreline.
Jesse will provide background information on CoastWatch and shoreline monitoring, and introduce the citizen science projects that CoastWatch sponsors. There will be plenty of time for questions.
At 3 p.m. the same day, Jesse and Fawn Custer, our CoastWatch citizen science trainer, will lead a beachwalk at Manhattan Beach State Recreation Site. See separate listing.
